I am so sick of the way that people perceive stay-at-home moms. I’m tired of the condescending looks and that baby tone of voice people get when they learn that I do not leave my house every day to go to work. My least favorite question that people ask right after I’ve told them my un-worthy profession is “So aren’t you bored all day? Not going to work every day would drive me nuts.” BORED?! I don’t have time to be bored and even if I gave myself the chance to be bored I would be opening myself, my day and my household to any number of disasters.

These people that seem to think that all I do is sit on the couch and watch my kids run around all day and maybe do a little cleaning if I feel like it confuse me. All I want to know after they talk to me that way is what is it like in their house? Are there not a million loads of laundry to do? Or how about the constant battle over the TV channel while your fighting everyone to find something more useful to do? Is my house unusually busy?

YAY! Everyone is well again, and what a freakin roller coaster. Let me tell ya kids can keep you on your toes at all times, but when they are sick you can’t help but slow down and cuddle. Al sounded yucky for a few more days but we knew she was getting better so we just waited it out. Now everything is back to normal and she rockin across the floor again. Thanks everyone for the well wishes :luv .

Now, as if just in time, it’s time to start getting ready. We are goin on vacation :wave, and as mom it’s my job to get all the ducks in a row. I’m not really lookin forward to the packin but I’ve decided to tell myself that I will deffinately forget things. Instead of trying not to forget things I’m trying some reverse psych on myself. I have made a target “things-I-forgot” number. Mind you this is not alist of things I will forget (that would just be stupid) it’s just a number. So if I reach that number I will be happy, things are normal and all is right in the universe.

I am going to be so busy this week it’s rediculous :phew

Back a couple posts ago I had told you guys I had some good news. I didn’t want to share though till it was set in stone. Well….. I have just become the new designer of the Feline Friendz website. I know it’s not a big company and that I’m not getting paid (it’s a donation) but I am giddy that I am finally getting to make a site for a “business”. I’m also tickled to be helping out a local non-profit that I total support. So I’ll be back with little bits for ya as we go and soon you’ll see their link everywhere cause I really want folks to check them out. There is more good news but alas I want to wait to share :*

Short post, really vague I know but I’ll be back after I chat with Jeweasle. I got some things I wanna share with her first :thumbs .

The baby is sick and I’m tired :ball . My last couple of days have been a bitch. Poor lil Al caught Mo’s cold and she is miserable. We took her to the doc yesterday cause she was wheezing and got sent home with a nebulizer. So now I have to give her these stupid breathing treatments 3 times a day. I don’t even think they are workin.

She is still wheezing and it even seems like it’s getting worse, and I don’t know what to do. I’ve called the doc but they never call back fast enough for me :dunno . Her cough is wretched and she is a monster snot ball. She keeps reminding me that she feels yucky with her little *__pfft__ . Thats all she has said for the last 3 days.

So I’m very tired and not getting anything done cause I don’t want to do anything but comfort her right now :comfort

*_A little update_* I ended up taking her into the doc again today and it turned out I was right. The breathing treatments weren’t working B| Now she has an ear infection too. So I’ve come home with an arm full of drugs I have to give her, but hopefully this time it will all work. We’ll see.

Well birthdays never seem to go perfectly as planned around here, and mine is never an exception. While this was true this year it still ended up bein pretty kick ass :thumbs . Sorry this is a really long entry, but the night was too specially to leave to many things out.

Now mind you the ONLY thing I wanted for my birthday was some time to do whatever I wanted to do without having to tend to anyone elses needs. I know that sounds selfish, but be a stay at home mom and that will be the day you will understand.

When I was a kid every year it was the same arguement on my Mom’s birthday. Dad would grump and growl all day cause he wanted to take her to do something (and of course my siblings and I would join in). Mom would tuck herself away in the basement and sew all day, and we couldn’t understand why she wouldn’t let us take her out to do something fun. Hind sight is always 20/20 and now I KNOW what was going on ;) Mom you had the right idea.

So this event happened a while ago, but since it explains a few things to my friends about “things” and well I’m too lazy to sit and type it in chat windows a bunch of times I thought I would share here. Anyway it’s a quite amusing story or at least we think so ;)

Al was born in November of last year. Everything went well there were NO complications and the delivery was fast and painfull. She had no birth weight problems (8.6) no health problems nothin. We stayed in the hospital for the couple days our insurance would allow just for the nice relaxing break and then brought her home. She’s been a quite happy, snuggley, quiet (but spunky) baby ever since she came home. _Oh yeah and did I mention she was and is very very healthy?_

As if the “ghostly porn” incedent wasn’t enough excitement this weekend today things just had to get better.

It started out a normal day. Little Mo got up and scooted off to church with Grandma, daddy and I settled the baby back down and went back to sleep (Sunday is our only morning to sleep in). Later in the afternoon we went to Grandmas to get Lil Mo and have some lunch. We hung out and chatted while she went out and played in the back yard.

After lunch we all were pretty tired so we headed home to take naps and get on with the day. When we got home I decided to check the messages and grab a smoke. Daddy came out with me to chat bout what we would do with the rest of the day (we don’t smoke in the house so we step out onto our patio). While we were out Lil Mo was watchin some cartoons. We hadn’t even taken the baby out of the carseat she was chillin waitin to be let loose :) All of the sudden we hear a huge thud and without thinkin bout it we ran inside. Lil Mo was doubled over cryin. once we got her to let us to look at her we noticed her nose was very swollen.

We decided to take her to the emergancy room to be safe. Poor kids not even in kindergarten yet and she has already broken her nose. They said it was a pretty clean break, her septum is still straight. We’re suppose to wait a few days till the swelling goes down and then take her to her doctor to see what needs to be done (if anything). I guess that means thank God for small miracles. If she hadn’t hit the table so straight on it could have been a real mess. So for the next couple weeks she is going to look like we abuse her with a couple black eyes and we will be nursing out of her pain. She is also doing some well earned “milkin’ it” and I’m letting her :) .

Tis sort of funny that when we looked into our health insurance we decided not to go with the HSA plan. “What are the chances we have broken bones this year hun?” is exactly what hubby asked me. I tried to argue, but ended up just lettin him go with what he thought was best. Whadya know not even two weeks after our insurance switched over and we’ve got a broken bone. I thought there couldn’t be much more excitment for the weekend and then… Surprise!

I have never realized how entertaining it is to speculate what sort of television shows a complete stranger may watch till today. The events that occered in our house today also put a new spin on that.

A little tiny set up for ya: we have digital cable and just two weeks ago we decided to get a DVR box (which BTW we have already had to switch out once because the harddrive was fried). So we have already been experiencing alot of problems with this new box. Plus there seems to be some service interuptions which the cable company says they are “investigating”.

Last night and this morning my husband kept trying to view the OnDemand movie list. Everytime he tried to access it the picture would just freeze up and nothing more would happen. Assuming it was again a problem with the box he called them this morning and they scheduled a tech to come out and take a look at it. At this point we just figured we’ll get a new box and try again :Q . Fast-forward through the day a bit now.
[Scene: we get home from running errands and start settling in to wait for the tech to show up. My husband, our two daughters, and myself are all sitting in the living room collectively getting ready to watch some TV (child appropriate of course seeing as our kids are toddler age and younger).]
